Your score
Each correct quiz answer earns 10 XP. A mistake earns no points and adds the word to your review queue. A correct review answer clears it. Replaying lessons earns more practice XP. “Words recalled” counts distinct words you have answered correctly at least once; it is not a fluency certificate.
Scores, completed lessons, and your current position are saved on this browser. The online and downloaded versions keep separate saves. Keep a downloaded file in the same location to resume it. If the app says saving is unavailable, keep the tab open.
Hear the tones

Listen uses your device’s Mandarin voice when available. Some voices need internet. Cards show dictionary tones; tones can change in connected speech. For some grammar particles, Listen reads the example sentence so you can hear the word in context.

About these 500 words
This is a practical HSK-based common-word course, not a complete official HSK exam syllabus. The set contains the 500 highest-frequency-ranked entries with a positive frequency rank in the Complete HSK Vocabulary dataset. Frequency depends on the source corpus. The first 50 are arranged for beginners; the rest follow the dataset’s frequency order. Each card teaches a selected everyday reading and meaning, with notes for common tricky cases.
